Derin was a designer who loved to visit antique shops. She collected handmade marble accessories and sometimes designed designs for private collections. One day, she found a striking marble figurine in a small shop she discovered in the back streets of Istanbul. The figurine was a round stone decorated with intertwined branches and leaves and a small eye motif in the middle. The shop owner, an old man, said that the figurine did not belong to him, but had simply appeared on his doorstep one day. “This stone has a story,” he whispered. “But not every story ends happily.”
Derin was amazed by the workmanship of the stone and, ignoring the warnings, took possession of the figurine. However, on the night he brought it home, strange things began to happen. First, he heard a faint hum in the room. He thought it was the wind. Then, for a brief moment, a shadowy silhouette appeared behind him in the mirror. His heart beat rapidly at that moment, but when he blinked, the shadow disappeared.
The next day, he noticed small letters on the bottom of the figurine: “The forgotten returns.”
Derin began to research what this message meant and learned that the figurine might belong to a very old civilization. According to legend, these stones housed the spirits of a city lost in time. Whoever owned it would also take on the burden of the past.
As the days passed, Derin began to hear strange whispers at night. The same words echoed over and over again: “Remember us. Set us free.”
It was too late. The secret of the marble was revealed and Derin became the true owner of the cursed stone…
